There is no better feeling than having the entirety of a new set virtually laid out in front of you and trying to get a feel for what cards will fit into what formats. I have spent the last week or so thinking about how these new cards will fit in and what implications these cards will have in the coming months.

My favorite Magic sets tend to be the ones that appeal to not just my Johnny side (well advertised by now) but my Vorthos side as well. I thought Innistrad (the plane) was incredibly expansive and well-sculpted. The mechanical innovations seemed to me very promising. Now that the whole set is opened up, I officially sound the Johnny conch shell.
